Out of a whim I decided to play Trapt last night and all I can say it WOW. You are the pretty princess Allura (In the trailer they call her Princess Alicia but changed it... Hidden pun?) and she was offered by an unkown force to become the evil fiends servant of darkness by killing many people as she can with the gift he grants her. The whole game is about death and the best ways of punishment amongst those who threaten you. When my friend first told me about this game he gave very vague details abvagueout how the battle system works. From what I first understood I figure you just walk around putting traps as you go along and once someone steps on the trap.. Boom! But this game actually takes more strategy then that, you not only need to set the traps but you have to run around inside the walls of the manor luring the people towards your traps.
You get to choose 3 types of traps that can be triggered on the playing field but you can pause the screen and choose a different variety if needed. The manor is your entire playing field, but some rooms are locked and need to be unlocked after certain amount of points are needed to buy the key. My favorite room would have to be the Torture Room and in the castle The War Room. Both have a lot of "Toys" to your disposal.
There is three types of traps you can equipped for battle floor, wall, and ceiling traps. Once you get so many points from killing people you get to create different types of traps for different situations. Some traps can even help activate hidden traps that are hidden in the area such as the cannon (Which I activate accidentally) in the War Room.
Once a soldier appears they will come through a door and introduce themselves with a war cry. Each of them is random as they come. Then once again when you defeat the soldier they will give out their last words. The first soldier you kill at the beginning has to be the saddest.
I have to admit on one thing I love the outfits in it all of them are different and unique, another thing that I like but can be fusterating at times is the Japanese dialog. They don't dub this game only put subtitles at the bottom. Just like a lot of games these days Trapt has multiple endings which I noticed when you are given choices throughout.
I believe I am almost done the game but I am not that sure. Hopefully I am close to being done I really want to know what happens.
