Join The Resistance

I just defeated Resistance Fall of Man and I have to say it feels like I am playing War Of The Worlds and I wouldn't be surprised if this game was based on it. It's a pretty good game with good graphics and fights. I found it a lot more exciting then Gears Of War and I can see why the two games are always compared to one another. When I first played this game I was always in a state of panic, trying to protect my squad and fight against the monstrous beings. After when I found out that the main protagonist Nathan Hale is the only survivor for a long period in the game. So seeing bodies after bodies fall to the floor it was no longer surprising or trying to find ways to save them. Even if I do manage to save one or two, when a movie sequence happens they will magically fall dead (probably from the shock of living.)
Hale is the only human that can with stand the attacks of Spires. While anyone else would be dead, with the virus of the Chimeran Hale is the only one who isn't. But it also seems that Hale is infected with something as glimpses of his eyes are shown to be a golden yellow and you get enhanced speed when you have a sniper gun. For a long while I thought Hale was a mute character, but he just seems to be the quiet type. His body language is portrait well in sequences that occur.

The one person who stood out for me in the whole story is Cartwright, a witty British soldier who will lend a hand once in a while. His skills at times I find to be plain luck, he can take down stalkers single handily and still can crack out a few British humor while at it. He was a strong help and probably the only soldier who didn't seem to be a generic copy of one another.

Everyone thinks that there is a "thing" going on between Rachael Parker and Hale, yes I see something. Captain Parker sees Hale as a science experiment. Hale who has no interest in the woman tries to avoid her as much possible by going on suicidal missions.

My favorite part in it was the driving through the gates with Cartwright shooting the Chimeran soldiers. Cheering you on to run them over with the vehicle and cheering when you do. I love driving games like that not racing but driving parts like in 24 The Game or Raw Danger. I also liked when Hale and a few others had to hold off the Chimeran while others blew up London Bridges. I admit a couple of times I did sing London Bridges falling down, falling down, falling down. Mostly because it was 5:30 am when I finally gotten to the part and I was silly from being tired.
Resistance Fall of Man is a first person shooter it was a game that I tried to ignore for a very long time. In fears of getting a bad case of simulation sickness once again. But I found a way to avoid it with drinking lots of liquids I made a large jug of apple juice with small breaks here and there. I felt little to no dizziness and managed to defeat the game in two days.

I am looking forward to Resistance 2 there is no release date so far for the game but the trailer I saw looked awesome and a lot better then the first one. As well as footage as Hale being less human from the beatings he gets from a massive chimeran he tries to take down. The other Resistance game that is coming out isn't well known compared to Resistance 2, is the third person shooter Resistance Retribution.

Gears Of War

I never expected to be done so quickly. I just started this game yesterday and I just defeated the last boss today. I didn't even know it was the last boss, I thought it was an annoying boss that was in the way of my destination. The game itself is far from my expectations of it, both in a good way and bad.

I remember when I first heard about this game and looked at their webpage. As the main character gave a small briefing of the monsters while he talked inside a cell with nothing but a small box of matches. There is a lot of things that I hope they will explain in the future Gears Of War 2 such as where these things came from, why they want war and even these out cast who live as homeless colony within cities.

I had a couple of issues with controls like when he is ducking and sometimes if you move to get a better cover or better aim he will all of a sudden stand. Or how it's hard to get a clear cut with the chainsaw. I will pretty much try to button mash the chainsaw button trying to activate but to no affect. I also found Hammer of Dawn too much of an advantage, and the satellite position seems to be always in the right when it is needed.

Also the NPC I just want to smack if they aren't randomly jumping over things they are rushing ahead to either be shot down or myself shooting them. At other times when I need them they wont even come over from there hiding spot to pitch in and I am stuck taking down a swarm myself.

Listening to your teammates is like listening to 20 year olds, they swear and pretty much make fun of everyone's mom, a lot of the time seem to not take the war serious. The only person who is serious is Marcus. But they are funny and I couldn't help but laugh at some of their conversations.

I guess I should consider myself lucky to start this game so late, so now it's fresh in my mind as Gears of War 2 comes out very soon.

I'm Sorry Daddy!

If there is one goal I set this year it was that the first game I defeated on the XBox 360 it would be Beautiful Katamari. Being a fan of the Katamari series Beautiful Katamari was a bit of a disappointment compared to the others.

Prince is once again set out on a coarse from the black hole that his abusive father, King of the Cosmos created. So the story goes, to me it feels shorter then the other ones and instead of taking in request like you did in the other Katamaris. The Prince just goes from building to building to all is complete. A lot of the levels seemed to be repeated from previous games such as the endings credit game which was first used in Me and My Katamari. As well as the rolling up countries, the only things they did different was extended it further into outer space. I can see a reason for this, for people who haven't played any of the other games because of them owning an XBox to have some of the experience. But for me it feels like playing the PSP version all over again.

The opening theme song doesn't seem as energetic compared to the other three such as We Love Katamari. It was the first sign that this game wasn't going to live up to it's name. The thing I was really disappointed in was there no story within a story. In both Katamari's for the Playstation 2 there was a story that followed every roll completed. In the first one is was about a boy and his family who want to go to a moon that wasn't there. It was up to the Prince to roll up a Katamari to make the moon as well as the universe. We Love Katamari was a memory of King of the Cosmos as he grew up with a strict father and ended up running away. Only to meet his love Queen of the Cosmos. But Beautiful Katamari feels incomplete because of this, felt like they didn't care much about it or it was rushed.

Just like in every other Katamari game Daddy of the Cosmos finds new ways of punishing the Prince for his errors. This time it's a cosmic billiard table and Prince is set in the middle running for his life against the billiard balls that are striked to him. Earning the King points as he lectures you about so and so.

I have yet to play the online because I just recently got a XBox 360 and haven't hooked it up to the internet yet.

The Casual Gamer

When it comes to games I never considered myself hardcore. I play games because I enjoy them and I try to cheat the grind system which 90% of the time works. I thought myself more as a casual gamer compared to the ones out there who spend every breathing second doing all the quest and leveling every sing character. But then it turns out I am not a casual gamer ever since I stumbled across this blog. It's a blog all about casual gaming playing games I would never even think about picking up. Games such as Peggle, Jewel Quest, and Dino Run, well okay I do play Dino Run when I am very bored and don't feel like playing a main stream game. But that's as casual as I get but guys play them and loves it to the point where they makes a blog out of it.

Final Fantasy: Dissidia

I was looking around at a few websites and stumbled across this video for Final Fantasy: Dissidia. It's the character from Final Fantasy III as he fights the Cloud of Darkness. He makes it look easy compared to when I fight the Cloud Of Darkness. For people who unfortunately never played the DS version of Final Fantasy III. The Cloud of Darkness is the void with a face and a figure. She is neither good nor evil her only purpose in life is to bring the world to what it once was. Nothing.

But now it seems she has more of a figure then just a bunch of clouds shaped as her. The whole fighting style is pretty much like any fighting game but with jumps that make you pretty much fly, and a humorous classic battle system to choose one attack to fully unleash with no counters.

Technical Problems

Due to certain problems I decided to change my blog website. So I decided to redo my whole blog while I was at it. Including the title itself. Just like so many gamers, I love coffee and energy drinks. That is where I got the title from.

Kane And Lynch: Dead Men WTF?!

For about two days now when I have time I've been playing Kane and Lynch: Dead Men. I was hoping for this big fiesta of fun but instead I got an average shooting game with crappy endings. Despite how the story line was focused more around Kane, I was more into the story behind Lynch instead hoping that it would reveal some of his past and black out that causes him to loose control.

My friend told me that if you play co-op and whoever plays Lynch will see hostages start turning into swat. Which would make anyone panic fast enough to take down them all with a shotgun. Sadly though I had no friends to play co-op with me.

The part I had the most fun in would be the Japanese night club and the fight with a construction truck. It was crazy and fast with a lot of luck just to bring the mechanical beast down. All the rest is mostly the same kill everyone leave no survivors.
When I first played this game I thought it was going to mostly be about running around from city to city to get enough money to get back your family. But the final stages will be in small villages and jungles during a war. Throughout I had a small army to use at my disposal and so I did, it wasn't till I got to the final part where I decided to rescue everyone to get a crappy ending. I decided to play through it again hoping to achieve something better. But I really can't tell the difference.

It was announced a while back ago that there is a sequel and a movie coming out. I am not too concerned about the movie and but more about the sequel. Big question for me is what ending are they going to follow up on if any?

There also seems to be a different design on the game case and it is changed in the game. Lynch has a lot more hair on the game case but seems to have lost a lot in the game.

Army Of Two

I went over to my friends house and decided to play Army Of Two. After 8 hours we finally manage to defeat the 5 stages of the game. The game was far challenging for me then most games, mostly because I always fly solo. I am also not the most rational when it comes to hard decision making and Army Of Two is very unforgiving.

Oddly enough I found shields to be my best friend throughout the game. They gave me the perfect cover and hold out long enough to ram each person in my path. With my friend taking all the high grounds to make powerful weapons to manage a good shot. I on the other hand was more worried about pimping out my weapon with gold and silver casing and diamond encrusted bullets.

Don't get me wrong I did do my share a lot to help out I mainly kept the aggro on me as my friend finds a better position. Mostly when it comes to bosses I would stay the farthest away to and shoot to get his attention as my friend moves in with the grenades and bullets. There was some questionable parts when the enemies would do 360 spins shooting off a couple of rounds.

Salem and Rios are two for the comedy. If they aren't slapping the back of each others heads or using their guns to play air guitar. They are giving hard time to each other on the field. From tripping to pushing and tumbling each other. You question if they would kill each other if it wasn't for the money.

I never played it solo and sadly I cannot find a cheap pre-played version of it in EB Games yet. So I really don't know how the AI responds but I heard it's pretty good. My friend and I are hoping for the next Army of Two game, but how will they name it? Army Of Two 2? Or is there going to be a title under it? We will be very surprised if there is no sequel.

Today I am going to order Army Of Two: Dirty Money the graphic novel.

Threads Of Fate

Threads Of Fate has to be my favorite RPG, it's a shame a lot of people don't agree with me. Threads Of Fate is for the PS1 and is about two characters Rue and Mint, though their stories are different their goals are the same. The story bases around a small island in the middle of nowhere with ruins and treasures to await the two heroes. The main goal for both of the heroes is to find a [Relic], a [Relic] is an item that has special powers that is given to it's holder. The island has rumored to have the most powerful [Relic] in the world The Dewprism.

Rue is the main male protagonist who seeks the Dewprism to save his beloved adopted sister Claire who dies saving him. He has the ability to take on forms of monsters and has a dark and mysterious past that unravels more and more into the story.
Mint is the main female protagonist who seeks the Dewprism for world domination. Mint is a princess who was going to be ruler of East Heaven Kingdom. But got dethroned by her younger sister Maya who believes that Mint was too immature to take on the responsibilities of the throne.
If there is one thing I love about this game is Mint. She is everything that made this game awesome and she isn't like every other cliched female characters personalities. She is very energetic that sticks to her own selfish goals and but is willing to help people if they need it. She uses magic using her two hoops to cast spells or use the hoops to fight physically. She seems invincible with no fears for anyone or for anything. But under all that toughness the one thing she fears most is pumpkins. Ordinary pumpkins that are carved at Halloween. With that one fear her sister Maya uses the Book of the Cosmos [Relic] to create demon pumpkins to chase Mint.
There is a lot of colourful people in this game the highly fashioned in the arts of cute Fancy Mel, she is a witch who lives in the clouds. She has everything around her small house filled with cute clouds, stars, and grossly cute creatures she created. Then there is Mints rival in the [Relic] hunting Belle and Duke who have to be the weirdest couple.

Not to mention a lot of the bosses that you face were pretty good challenge. My favorite is Trap Master he can create any sort of trap that makes him a really hard at first to defeat. But the final boss was the hardest, I can't tell you how many times I died.

The sad thing is there is no bright future for this series it was a once in a life time thing that will never get a repeat again. The only thing that remotely comes close to the game is "Duo Princess" for PC, an unofficial fanmade game.

Despite what everyone says I think Threads Of Fate is a really fun and charming game. Mint is my hero and I made a banner of Mint for my blog and made this post of the reasons why I love Threads of Fate.

Ghostbusters

If there is one game I am looking forward to besides Little Big Planet, it's the Ghostbusters game. Since I can remember I've always been a fan of the Ghostbusters, I watched the movies all the time, watched the cartoon every chance I got. I remember going over to my moms boyfriends house and playing the Ghostbusters game on SNES. I even had a Slimer toy that I use to take everywhere with me.

After going to EB Games yesterday I saw this trailer at the EB Games, and I thought "Wow they are already showing trailers." Which I am now looking forward to and will be purchasing when it comes out probably at full price *Gasp*
From what I read and watched on G4 you are a rookie Ghostbuster who is pretty much a guinea pig for the new equipment. Throughout the game you are helped by the original four Ghostbusters as you hunt down Ghost. Every mission you complete will pay you for the work you provide. But money is docked for damages you cause during your ghost hunt. (Reminds me of the mess they made during their first job in the movie.)

There will be three types of games for the realistic games will be for the PS3, PC and XBox 360. While the Wii and PS2 will have more of a cartoonish atmosphere and the DS will be a version all it's own.

(Playsation 3, XBox 360, PC Version)
(Wii, PS2 Version)

All the cast members from the movies will be returning, all except Rick Moranis who retired from acting. To spend more time with his kids after his wife pasted away. I am actually happy that he won't be in it for the part of a Ghostbuster at least. I really didn't like the second movie all too much and to see him being a Ghostbuster would just remind me more of how much I didn't approve of the sequel.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Easter Eggs

Just like all the other Metal Gear Solid games, Metal Gear Solid 4 has quite a few Easter Eggs. A couple of them I found on my own and some I saw on the internet. Such as the J-Pop singing Laughing Octopus or the man peeing off a bridge.

Ones I found like the very first one was the statue that was presented in a few trailers for MGS4. I went on top and did the action button where Snake holds onto the mans Little Soldier. If you keep pressing the action button it looks like Snake is groping him until it eventually falls off, this was in my first play through and I couldn't help but laugh saying "That's Kojima for you."

The next one I found is when you are suppose to go upstairs to meet Rat Patrol but being dumb I ran over a landmine which sent Snake flying in the air. But he comfortably lands on the couch right beside where the land mind set off. Snake lays on the couch in a hang over passed out position with a leg and an arm hanging off the couch and his other hand on his head covering his eyes. This was a one time thing I managed to do. A few times I tried it over at a friends house with no luck in pulling it off again. I believe it's because I wasn't at a right enough angle when I do it.

When I was at my friends house we were talking about how big Johnny and Meryl have gotten in this game and how there will probably be new Metal Gear games coming out. During the fight with Rat Patrol against the Frogs. I became angry at the idea of how many fans want Johnny to be the next hero of the series. In doing so I shot him in the head with an RPG as I stood over him on a counter. In doing so leaves flash backs not only of MGS4 but of MGS1, but these are no Snake flash backs they are all of Johnny. We were shocked at the results so we killed Meryl next. Doing so left Flash backs of Meryl including clips of Meryls ending in MGS1.

If you tranquilize Johnny he falls asleep the same way you first see him in MGS1 with his ass in the air and his arms beside him.

In a second play through I was fighting Ocelot in a final battle, I died. I decided to call it a night so I clicked on the "Exit" button only to hear "Snake it's not over yet." Coming from Ocelot with that the selection was automatically moved back to the option "Continue."

There is a couple of small ones that my friend and I discovered on the plane during Mission Briefing such as the video that switches to pictures of a bikini woman, the radio that plays different music when you go upstairs. Finally a picture of someone on top of the stove right next to the picture of Olga. It's only during a certain briefing you see it and it's not in any of the cut scenes. As far as we can see it, it's a man. There was no zoom function so we couldn't make any other details besides that.

Here's some codec calls I like.
They even manage to do the same thing from MGS3.
