Monster Hunters Freedom 2

I picked up my PSP, it was collecting a mild layer of dust on my night stand. Too busy to play any good games for a while. The only game I was playing on occasion was Harvest Moon Boy and Girl. Which was a big disappointment, it felt like playing Friends of Mineral Town all over again.

Just a different story for how you got there with additional events and holidays. But still pretty much the same game.

It wasn't until EB Games was having a sale on a lot of their games, I went into the store to get PaRappa the Rapper (PSP), but left with Monster Hunters Freedom 2. I played it on the bus ride home and even to work. I started to do the basics but got to bored with the tutorial learning and jumped straight into a monster hunt instead. I imported my character from Monster Hunters 2 gave her new clothes to fit the environment but kept everything else pretty much the same.

Just like the first Monster Hunter you get your very own pig that you win over with your charm. He follows you around the village and your house and with a new addition you can dress him up in clothes. The one thing so far I noticed is that they take out the intro movie sequences of monsters that you need to hunt.

The story starts off a little different from the original, it shows your character walking through a snow side of a mountain just to find dead carcasses of wild beasts. A monstrous wyvern then approaches you and attacks you unable to do anything you fly off the mountain side. You then find yourself in bed as a man stands beside you telling you he found you lying in the snow and you got some minor injuries. You then learn that you were sent to this village to replace a monster hunter who got severely injured in battle and is unable to perform quests.

Can't really say more then that at the moment, there are a lot of new monsters even though I don't know how they can survive in the winter. If these monsters which look like dinosaurs or reptiles they should have cold blood and would die under these conditions but I guess Capcom decided that they are immune to the cold climate unlike my character who shivers a lot.

Trapt Bad Ending

I defeated Trapt before going to work today, I got the bad ending I couldn't defeat the final boss. A Fiend was really strong and I didn't know at the time (till I looked it up) how to defeat him. I would have restarted and do it over again but I got a cool looking trap for unlocking this ending. So when I feel like it, I will once again indulge myself in the massacres and slaying of humans.

If there is one thing I love is the main characters outfits they are all unique and different. The ones I like the most are Allura's and her maid Rachelle's. To me their outfits are the ying and yang of the game. Even though as Dark as Rachelle, is Allura is the one going around doing the bidding of the Evil Fiend.

Seeing how Allura wears very little clothing and nothing to protect her from physical attacks she can take damage quite easily and can get killed off with the right close range attacks compared to far range.

But less armor means more durability for faster movement and awkward positions through traps of the castle and you own.

The part that turns this story dark is Allura's personality at the beginning deaths and murders she committed she would be scared and would try to refuse the deeds. But more and more into the game she just watches over the corpses before her almost having no feeling for them left. This game is one dark game, something that you can either enjoy for the art, battle system, and techniques for death. Or just enjoy the idea of death and destruction in this crazy mansion, either way this is a great game, I only wish it could be a little longer.

Trapt

Out of a whim I decided to play Trapt last night and all I can say it WOW. You are the pretty princess Allura (In the trailer they call her Princess Alicia but changed it... Hidden pun?) and she was offered by an unkown force to become the evil fiends servant of darkness by killing many people as she can with the gift he grants her. The whole game is about death and the best ways of punishment amongst those who threaten you. When my friend first told me about this game he gave very vague details abvagueout how the battle system works. From what I first understood I figure you just walk around putting traps as you go along and once someone steps on the trap.. Boom! But this game actually takes more strategy then that, you not only need to set the traps but you have to run around inside the walls of the manor luring the people towards your traps.

You get to choose 3 types of traps that can be triggered on the playing field but you can pause the screen and choose a different variety if needed. The manor is your entire playing field, but some rooms are locked and need to be unlocked after certain amount of points are needed to buy the key. My favorite room would have to be the Torture Room and in the castle The War Room. Both have a lot of "Toys" to your disposal.
There is three types of traps you can equipped for battle floor, wall, and ceiling traps. Once you get so many points from killing people you get to create different types of traps for different situations. Some traps can even help activate hidden traps that are hidden in the area such as the cannon (Which I activate accidentally) in the War Room.
Once a soldier appears they will come through a door and introduce themselves with a war cry. Each of them is random as they come. Then once again when you defeat the soldier they will give out their last words. The first soldier you kill at the beginning has to be the saddest.
I have to admit on one thing I love the outfits in it all of them are different and unique, another thing that I like but can be fusterating at times is the Japanese dialog. They don't dub this game only put subtitles at the bottom. Just like a lot of games these days Trapt has multiple endings which I noticed when you are given choices throughout.

I believe I am almost done the game but I am not that sure. Hopefully I am close to being done I really want to know what happens.

Give Up On The Don

I've been playing The Godfather game for a couple of days now. It's a really good game that circles around a character you character given name Aldo who joins the family. You go behind the scenes of everything to help out the family in its dirty work.

To earn money to buy new clothes, weapons and houses to rent you need to get small businesses and some crooked businesses to join in partnership with the family. That will give the protection for their buisness from rival families. You can also sweet talk hookers and women who work in brothels to get on their good sides. There is no sex scenes in it so I wonder what those women are there for, they always seem to promise you getting a little something something later but never do.

My favorite mission was when I had to sneak into a mansion of Woltz with Rocco after sneaking around past guards Rocco will go into a stables and cut the head off a horse. I would think was "What the Hell?!" as I heard the horses noises coming from inside. Getting into the mansion was somewhat hard without killing anyone. Once inside the Rocco leaves the horse he killed in Woltz's bed for a cut scene to happen where he wakes up to it in the morning.

There was lots of car driving and sometimes even chases they were fun but can get annoying because cars can easily go into smoke and explore causing a game over. But at times it's still really fun to do even though they do put too many of them in there.

I finished all the main missions just to find out that I had to do all the side missions in order to get the ending. I was mad and put the game away. I don't mind side missions but I don't want it to be the main thing I have to do in order to get an ending.

The End For Chulip

I just defeated Chulip, I've actually been really addicted to that game I played it none stop once I got home from work. It's a game that has it's flaws and at times can be very difficult but it's a game that is not appreciated by people. The comical parts of the game is what kept me going, everything from the reference of Space Invaders in the Scarecrow Field, to the Midnight Films of Goro.

Favorite Moments

My favorite parts would be the Factory when you have to hide from the security guard and if you hide in the Fourth District under beside the outhouse. The guard will eventually run in and take a very loud shit.

I also liked teasing the cop at night seeing how many times I can run around him without getting shot. As well as give blood to Dr. Dandy just to hear his cackle.

I liked going to the Turtle Bathhouse the music was the best in the game for me, and taking a bath perfectly is a big challenge till you get the hang of it. But it's all fun and you even get a smooch from Leo if you take the bath correctly.

Once you kiss someone they automatically get put into a photo album that is located beside the tv. In it is pictures of the people you kissed doing things that is silly and would give me a good laugh.

My favorite Underground Residence would have to be Sniper and Target, Sniper would always wait on top of a hill in Scarecrow Field for Target to try use the outdoor facilities. Being on his hands in knees Target will craw to use the toilet as Sniper relentless shoots at him. What really makes this skit comical is that Target is this fat businessman with a cigar in his hand. While Sniper looks to be a out of the trenches trench coat fiend.

But the best is actually find "Poopie" everywhere from garbage cans to bushes. All will make you loose hearts. But the humor of it is that you get different sizes from regular to large. Then there is Mr. Cheapot who will buy it off you and if you decide just to throw it away it will turn up in the Lost and Found at the Police Station.

(I took this picture with my camera, I thought it was the funniest thing ever.)

This is a really good game to relieve stress there is some problems with it such as no translations for titles in films and when it cuts to the next episode. As well as tons of spelling mistakes. But once you look past all of that it's a really good game that everyone should play.
