Core Crisis Final Fantasy VII Good Bye Zack

I just defeated Core Crisis Final Fantasy VII, it has the ending that I knew was going to happen, but despite that I found it a little depressing. The final boss was actually easier then I had expected him to be, I am actually regretting not putting the game on Hard. The combat system is another thing, it has Zack running, dodging, and blocking in the middle of battle. I am guessing they are doing something similar with Final Fantasy XIII. The one thing I never got the hang of is the DMC I really don't understand how it works or how to get it to work but when it happens I usually get all three faces.

I also love the voice acting in it, mostly they replaced that horrible voice of Aerith from Advent Children and gave her a better voice actress. That really made the experience better for me alone. The game itself can actually be pretty short if you stick to story without doing any side quests. I wanted to do all the side quests only to find out there is over 300. I like side quest I think they are a good way to waste time, some of them were even fun. But I am not doing over 300 same quests over and over again. It's mostly either fight a boss at the beginning or go around to whole bunch of areas to find a boss. Fight boss and either get a cut scene or don't that's pretty much it.

There are some familiar faces you see in the game of coarse there is the Turks Tseng, Reno and Rude. Sadly Reno and Rude only make two appearances in the game. As well as one of the newer Turks Cissnei, I am still trying to figure out what happened to her so she doesn't appear in Final Fantasy VII. Then there is Sephiroth with his nicer side before he turns evil. Dr. Hojo who is still an ass. Aerith of coarse plays a large part in the game, it also explains where she gets her ribbon from and how her flower buisness got started. At the beginning you meet Yuffie and she sends you emails to do quests for her. There is also Tifa. Don't have much to say there. As well as Zacks good friend Cloud, the game shows how Zack and Cloud first met. Even how Cloud got his SOLDIER uniform despite not being a SOLDIER. The only thing I didn't see is how Aerith finds her Holy Materia. In the game she didn't have it tied up in her hair, I was hoping for some kind of explination.

It is a game I actually enjoyed playing I loved the music, voice acting, cut scenes and some of the humour that was in the game, not something I probably will play again they were misssing things I wished they put in the game such as puzzles and maybe a decent boss fight.

Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows

I am a huge fan of Spider-man a lot of things in my room are Spider-man, he has been my hero since as far back as I can remember. I even use to watch the very old cartoon where Spider-man shoots webs in the sky. I read the comics, play the video games, and watch the newest Spider-man on Saturdays. For a while I've been closely watching Web Of Shadows seeing if it will be the next Amazing Spider-man game (My favorite one.) Or another Spider-man 3, so far I really like it. Has the appearance of Wolverine (Who was also in Amazing Spider-man.) But it doesn't look that Wolverines fight will last long from what the trailer show. It appears that somehow the Symbiote largely mass produced and is now taking control of New York City. What I am cheering for is Carnage to come and reek havoc amongst the city. He of coarse is my favorite Symbiote if you had to choose between Venom and Carnage. I don't know that much but it seems to be an invasion where you get to choose the path of either good or bad.

Resident Evil: Degeneration

Capcom decided to join the bandwagon on turning the famous Resident Evil game into a movie... Oh wait there is a few movies about Resident Evil isn't there? Well anything made by Uwe Boll isn't considered a movie just a pile of mess. Well this movie is made with computer graphics, and seems to be based around an airport that gets locked down when a terrorist group unleashes the T-Virus. The two main characters are quite familiar who make their first appearance in Resident Evil 2 Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield.
It shows the affects of Racoon City from an outside where civilians gaze upon the destruction of Racoon City. It then fast forward to 7 years later as Claire Redfield is in the airport when shit hits the roof.

I am sure it's going to come straight to DVD, even though it would be nicer to see it come to theaters but the chances of that are slim to none.

Motion Sickness

In a vast majority of gamers would one time or another experience motion sickness from video games which is known as "Simulation Sickness." It's a common thing that can happen with a small headache or can be more extreme like vomiting. The most common would be First Person Shooters, which I sadly am very bad at suffering from. But it can also be games such as Silent Hill as a learned from this guy who suffers Simulation Sickness while playing Silent Hill 3. I have yet to vomit but I feel dizzy and bad headaches with a bit of nausea.

From a part of Wikipedia's Motion Sickness describes more about Simulation Sickness.

"Simulation sickness

Simulation sickness, or simulator sickness, is a condition where a person exhibits symptoms similar to motion sickness caused by playing computer/simulation/video games.

The most common theory for the cause of simulation sickness is that the illusion of motion created by the virtual world, combined with the absence of motion detected by the inner ear, causes the area postrema in the brain to infer that one is hallucinating and further conclude that the hallucination is due to poison ingestion. The brain responds by inducing nausea and mass vomiting, to clear the supposed toxin. According to this theory, simulation sickness is just another form of motion sickness.

The symptoms are often described as quite similar to that of motion sickness. Some can range from headache, drowsiness, nausea, dizziness, vomiting and sweating. A research done at the University of Minnesota had students play Halo for less than an hour, and found that up to 50 percent felt sick afterwords."

I looked for a while for some sort of remedy to make the walls stop spinning, but a lot of ideas aren't for everyone. Such as medicine for nausea, or painkillers like Aspirin for headaches. But the best remedy would be to only play a game for a certain time then take a half to an hour break.

I have to recommend most of reading this article written by Looney Games.

So Angry And Yet So Tired... Damn You Assassin's Creed Ending!

It's almost 5 am and I just defeated Assassin's Creed and if there is one thing you should know about this game. It's that the ending leaves in a cliff hanger. So if you are into it as much as I was then you will be very pissed off that you have to wait for the second one to come out. And no I am not talking about Assassin's Creed for DS.

I really can't say that I hated the game, the only thing that pissed me off was trying to find information in a very large city. It takes me forever to do and it's so annoying.

The game storyline itself leaves more questions then answers, not only that I looked for a while for some sort of information about the second one but found little to nothing. I guess the April Fools joke they did would make me pissed off if I cared about it back then.

I have to admit when I first saw this game I had really no interest in it, but once again a game surpassed my expectations and I really enjoyed it. It felt like a Historical Hitman game. But a lot of people say it's a lot like a Prince of Persia game. I never played Prince of Persia before so I will have to take their word for it.

Well off to bed I got work.

Dragoons

Dragoons in fiction are mostly known as people who can control or have a connection to dragons. Most of the time Dragoons take on the form of dragons with helmets and armor that resembles dragons.
I first came across a Dragoon in Final Fantasy IV when downloading fan translated roms were cool. Despite this being my first Final Fantasy game I played and the only turn base battle RPG I played was Chrono Trigger. So adjusting to something so different by comparison wasn't easy. Not to mention I never had troubles actually needing to grind with Chrono Trigger as I soon found out I needed to do with Final Fantasy IV. But I soon found my favorite character Kain, which was regrettable how he kept leaving the battle a lot of the times. I found Kain the most useful character, if it wasn't for his jump all characters would have died during the final fight. Though I didn't know at the time that Kains job was a dragoon.
I soon found a lot of games where Dragoons are either a small part or a big part in the game. In Eragon they are known as Dragon Riders which is the basic concept of Dragoons. Him spiritual linked to his dragon he is the only one who can communicate with her.
Dragoons can be mostly seen in Final Fantasy series, it started back in Final Fantasy III. When the job can use the strong ability Jump against their enemies. Jump makes the character jump into the air and can take at least one turn before they come down and attack the enemy. It's a strong attack and nothing can harm the character when he's jumping in the air. Dragoons also appear in Final Fantasy Tactics but they are known as lancers but have the same concept as Dragoons using spears and the ability to Jump. Then there is Final Fantasy IX the dragoon is known as a Dragon Knight job that Freya has. She can Jump as well as learn how to summon dragons to her help her.
Final Fantasy XI has probably the best story line for Dragoons out of all the jobs. It starts out with your character hearing of a man who is actually a dragoon despite Dragoons being a dead job. After doing a whole bunch of small quest including finding your very own dragon egg and getting it to hatch. A man comes to slay the dragon, thinking all dragons are evil and none of them will ever be good. After defending your dragon and killing another dragon, your dragon shares a bond with you and shows the signs of good. So that's basically how you become a dragoon in Final Fantasy XI. The only crappy thing about is that you have to choose from a list of names so there is a lot of Raidens running around my server. I hate the name Raiden mostly from MGS so I called mine Delphyne. The dragoons are considered a joke class in it, but from recent updates of the game. They are much better they previously were.

Drakengard 2

A while back ago I did a Drakengard post about how it's a really disturbing game. I decided to do a small theme to talk about dragon and dragoon games. Drakengard is one of my most favorite games, sadly though I can't say much about Drakengard 2.

Drakengard 2 has it's ups and downs about the game, it's a lot more calm compared to the bloody game Drakengard.

It starts off 18 years later with a dragon child called Nowe. Unlike most people who wish to have the powers of a dragon have to create a pact and sacrifice something of their selves. Nowe didn't have to make any pact to ride his dragon Legna. When Nowe was first born Legna took him in as his own and raised him, but after a while Legna handed Nowe off to humans so he could become a knight.

There is some things about the game I wish that they put in the first one, such as armies that are by your side helping you like a real war. As well as potions can't count how many times I died because there was no healing orbs around.

Unlike the first game where after you defeat a ending you can play through a chapter that will open up another ending. But this game is horriable and will actually make you do everything all over again for you to get another ending. The only difference is that you will see new monologue kind of like Breath of Fire Dragon Quartor.

Another thing that turns me off is the pact prices, they seem a lot weaker compared to the first ones such as Hanch who looses her charm. So now everyone finds her hideous instead of charming and beautiful. Another is Yaha who can never be able to feel pleasure again which he finds tragic being in love with Urick and hints sexual gestures at him during the battle. Urick is probably the only good one, he made a pact with a Reaper and now can never die. His body can be hit, slashed, burned, punctured, and cut. But he won't die nor will he heal as seen when he first appears when and reveals his grotesque body to a bunch of thugs.

The only people who returning from the first game is Manah, Seere, and Caim. They never mention what happens to Arioch or Leonard. Verdelet was killed by Caim as revenge for sealing his dragon and making her turn mad. Through the 18 years Caim couldn't stop hearing her suffering and set out to free her. Only for a tragic end (Spoilers)

This game isn't as good as the second one, I can never see myself picking up again as I did with the first one. I only got one ending before I decided to turn it off for good. I doubt there will ever be a third Drakengard coming out.

Chrono Trigger/ Money Bank Delight

Chrono Trigger is one of the most popular JRPG of all time, there is hardly anyone out there who says they never enjoyed it. With it's multiple endings, fun mini games, and unique story line and characters. It's a golden game classic, the creators of the game consist of Hironobu Sakaguchi known for creating games such as Final Fantasy and The Bouncer. As well as the famous composer Nobuo Uematsu who created the soundtrack for the game. Then there is the well known Akira Toriyama who did the character design styles are similar (by their looks) to the characters of other media such as Dragonball, Dragon Quest and Blue Dragon.

The game first came out on the SNES in 1995 with it's popularity so high it was soon remade for the Playsation in 1999. The game itself was made with additional anime cut scenes. The game soon got it's sequel, Chrono Cross which I found to be a very big disappointment to the original. There is even an OVA that was launched for a Festival in Japan.

(Chrono Cross: Crono, Lucca, and Meryl on the beach.)

The story is about a guy named Crono who goes to the Millennial fair to see his best friend Lucca's newest invention. While looking around at all the games and activities he runs into a girl named Marle who decides to hang out with Crono at the fair. After meeting up with Lucca and seeing her new invention that can transport one person to another area using the machine. Marle decided to be the test subject for the machine, only for it to backfire sends Marle through time to the past. Crono soon follows her and winding up in a mysterious world of the past. Lucca soon catches up after figuring out how it happened. There he finds out that Marle was the Princess Nadia of his time. But because she came to the past and changed history she ceased to exist.

With the help of a talking frog everyone calls Frog, they managed to save Marle and keep history the same. After returning things only became more complicated and time travel became a must throughout the entire game. Finding time portals Crono and his friends travel through the past to the future meeting new friends and changing the present to a better place for everyone.

This is probably the only game where I actually like all the characters as well as the fighting system. You can make countless combos with each character depending on what sort of attacks they know. Everyone except Ayla and Robo can use magic which can be combined to make more powerful attacks.

The best part is that when you defeat the game the file will be saved and you can start all over with everything you had in the first play through. So you wont have much trouble getting any of the other endings.

A fanbase site was working on a very delightful looking remake to the game, the concept art and the music that was previewed was something I was really looking forward to. But regrettably Square-Enix put a cease to it. I can't really understand why they did it, unless they were making a remake (but they never did) and that would jeopardize their own product.

But now there is a Chrono Trigger coming out for the DS, I guess after all the remakes from classic games such as Final Fantasy III and IV they might as well bring out Chrono Trigger. It was just announced and not much is known about it. Is it going to be remade like Final Fantasy III and IV? Or is it just going to be the same game with the same graphics and music just on the DS with more touch action? The cash cow is really going to flow for this one that's for sure. If they remake the game then yes I will buy it. But if it's going to be just the same game then I probably wont.

If you never played a Chrono Trigger game I suggest you do, it's a great game that anyone can enjoy as long as you like JRPGs.
